Join Monte's March towards a Western Mass. without hunger
Monday and Tuesday, November 23 & 24, WRSI – The River morning host Monte Belmonte is marching 43 miles from Springfield to Greenfield pushing a shopping cart to raise awareness and funds for The Food Bank.
Last year Monte’s March raised $66,000 and provided 198,000 meals to the more than 235,000 people in Western Mass. facing hunger.
With your support, this year we can make even more of a difference.
Please set an extra place for a hungry child at your holiday table
While the majority of us will focus on food and festivities on Thanksgiving, far too many of our children will be hungry. Today, one in five children in America struggle with hunger, and any day they can go to bed on a full stomach is like Thanksgiving. You can end childhood hunger beginning this Thanksgiving. With your help, many more children will have a healthy Thanksgiving dinner of their own.
There are many ways to contribute to The Food Bank
Donate to feed hungry children, families, and seniors throughout Western Massachusetts. For every $1 you donate, we are able to provide 3 meals.

Conduct a Food or Fund Drive
Food drives organized by community groups, schools and local businesses help fill The Food Bank’s warehouse and enable us to dedicate more resources towards our mission. They can also provide nutritious food and vital operating funds while raising awareness of hunger issues in our communities. Virtual food drives combine the convenience of online fund-raising campaigns with the exciting hands-on feel of a canned food drive. With the click of a mouse, you can choose the type and quantity of the food products you wish to donate.
Participate in an Event
The Food Bank and our supporters continuously hold events throughout the year, allowing us to fight hunger in our community. From our own signature fundraising events, to community food and fund drives, there is always a fund and exciting opportunity to get involved.
