Among all client households served by The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, 71% are food insecure, according to the U.S. government’s official food security scale.
On September 6th 2012 food banks across the country participated in the “Go Orange” campaign to raise awareness of the problems of hunger and food insecurity that 49 million Americans struggle with each year. With employees, volunteers and supports alike wearing orange, the symbolic color of hunger, over 200 food banks across the country shared their support for ending hunger in their communities and nationwide. This slideshow only shows a portion of those that participated, see if you can pick out The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts!
