Sponsorship Types

Truck Sponsorship

Increase your brand visibility by featuring your company’s logo on one of our Food Bank trucks, which travels through the four counties of Western Massachusetts.

Showcase your commitment to a hunger-free Western Massachusetts by ensuring that healthy food (including fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms) continues to be delivered to communities with high levels of food insecurity. Truck sponsorship includes placement of your logo on both sides, based on a 3-year commitment.

Will Bike 4 Food

Since this annual ride to end hunger began in 2011, it has grown into one of the Pioneer Valley’s premier cycling events. This family-friendly fundraiser allows riders of all ages to choose from one of four scenic routes to help feed our neighbors in need.

Last year, the event had 434 riders who took the 100, 50, 25, 12, or 4-mile journey to raise awareness and funds to end hunger in Western Massachusetts.

Spring/Summer Event

Every spring, the Food Bank hosts a community event to support our mission. The event aims to raise awareness of food insecurity in our region while providing people the opportunity to connect and enjoy time with other supporters of our work.

This year’s event, Bingo in the Berkshires, will take place on July 31st and feature lively games of bingo, prizes, and acknowledgements of our work and supporters in the western-most county of Massachusetts

Each November, Monte Belmonte of New England Public Media leads a march against hunger through the Pioneer Valley for 43 miles from Springfield to Greenfield. Monte is joined by Congressman Jim McGovern, Food Bank Executive Director Andrew Morehouse, and a large group of supporters as they raise funds to help provide healthy meals to neighbors at risk of hunger in Western Massachusetts.

The event is prominently highlighted on both days by local radio stations, WRSI- a supporter of the event since the beginning- and NEPM- where Monte Belmonte hosts the Fabulous 413.

Round-Up Fundraiser

A round up fundraising campaign involves allowing customers to round their total up to the nearest dollar and then donating that money to the Food Bank. For example, if a guest’s total came to $23.58 and they chose to round up for your cause, $0.42 would be put toward a donation.

These campaigns have been highly successful with businesses like Guido’s Fresh Marketplace who kindly raised over $32,000 last summer to help the Food Bank provide healthy meals for neighbors in need in Western Massachusetts.

To get more information on setting up your own Round Up Campaign for The Food Bank, please contact Cheyenne Burnham at cheyenneb@foodbankwma.org.

Direct Services

There are many opportunities to support financially the Food Bank’s programs and direct-to-neighbor services throughout the year. These programs include:

  • Mobile Food Bank
  • Brown Bag Food For Elders
  • Nutrition
  • Member Food Pantry Capacity Building: We work with our members, front line local food pantries and meal sites, to provide training opportunities and mini-grants for freezers, refrigerators, shelving and other items to strengthen their capacity to distribute more nutritious food to more people.

For more information, contact our Director of Development, Jillian Morgan, at (413) 203-4946.

Volunteer

While we can customize a volunteer opportunity for your company, here are a few examples of how you can prevent hunger in the community:

  • Volunteer your time: Gather co-workers together to sort food in our warehouse, help with farm chores at Cultivating for Community, or help at a special event.
  • Volunteer your skills: Bring your unique skills to the table for a special project, including marketing, event planning, operations, strategic planning, facility management, etc.
