Ronn Johnson

Ronn Johnson, CEO of Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services in Springfield, and Food Bank board member, passed away this weekend. Ronn and MLK have had a long partnership with our organization on anti-hunger initiatives and as a partnering agency of the emergency food network.

Here’s what Andrew Morehouse, Executive Director of The Food Bank, had to say when he shared the news of Ronn’s passing with fellow board members yesterday.

Friends,

It is with great sadness that I inform you that our newest board member, Ronn Johnson, passed away last Saturday. Ronn was the CEO of Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services in Springfield – a member of The Food Bank. He was very excited about joining The Food Bank Board.

Under his leadership, the MLK, Jr. Family Services Food Pantry has become one of the five largest pantries in Western Massachusetts. As a multi-cultural, multi-service organization, MLK strengthens Springfield communities in many ways. Over the years, I was always struck by Ronn’s collaborative spirit and deep commitment to his community.

Sincerely,

Andrew Morehouse
Executive Director
The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
