In addition to these volunteer opportunities,  we also have internship opportunities for students.

Special Events:  Help us plan or carry out fundraising events.  Staff a Food Bank table at a festival.  Help sell our holiday cards.  Individuals and groups are welcome!

Brown Bag We need volunteers in several communities to help with Brown Bag, which provides low-income elders with a monthly bag of groceries.  Volunteers help one weekday morning a month unloading the truck, bagging the food, and/or delivering bags to homebound seniors.

The Food Bank Farm:  Get close to the earth by volunteering at The Food Bank Farm! We need help from May through November, weekdays and weekends.  Individuals are welcome anytime without prior contact. We accept volunteers Monday-Friday from 8-5 and Saturday from 8-noon. If you have any questions please call 413-329-0211. Groups also welcome: please call and let us know how many people, what is their age, and when you would like to come.

Office:  We always need volunteers in the office to help with mailings, phone calls, computer projects, graphic design, and the other behind-the-scenes work that keeps the organization on track.  We have a special need for volunteers with computer skills, but have many projects for low-tech folks as well.

Salvage Room:  "Salvage" is food that that is perfectly good to eat but can't be sold, often because the can or box is dented.  Stop & Shop and other grocery store chains donate more than a million pounds of salvage to The Food Bank each year.  Volunteers inspect and sort it out in our warehouse.  Weekday and evening shifts are available.
