Thirty communities in western Massachusetts have hunger rates that are six times higher than the statewide average.

After the holidays, the generous donations of the season will have been used for those who needed help during these final months of the year. At The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, the post holiday season is a time for replenishing needed supplies.
Each year, youth groups, churches, and schools around the country participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a youth-led event to raise funds for anti-hunger organizations. The Food Bank of Western Mass. partners with dozens of youth groups and civic groups across the region to host fundraisers on Super Bowl Sunday, collecting thousands of dollars each year to support our work to get food to households in need.
Participation in Souper Bowl of Caring is EASY, with FREE materials supplied to support your group’s efforts. Participating can be as simple as making an announcement one week and collecting from your congregation, school, or civic group the next week. One dollar per person can make a huge difference. For every $1 dollar collected, The Food Bank can provide $13 dollars worth of food!
