Thirty communities in western Massachusetts have hunger rates that are six times higher than the statewide average.
We’ve seen some pretty amazing stuff this past week. After the devastating tornadoes of June 1, The Food Bank staff has been hard at work responding to the increased need, and our phones have been ringing off their hooks as people have been calling to make donations or volunteer. And tons of local and regional businesses have been pitching in as well.
Today, Ocean State Job Lot donated a whopping 48,000 pounds of food to go towards tornado relief. We are humbled by their generosity and grateful for their help.Leave a Comment
